The Storehouse of Foulis

The 2-storey building was built in the early 18th century as a girnel, a store-house of produce from the Foulis Estate, kept there until there was sufficient to ship it to the military base at Fort George. The stone building was renovated in 1998 and now incorporates an exhibition of life during the clan years. The single-storey building replaces the original ferryman's cottage and has been extended to provide a high-quality restaurant. The project attracted an award from The Association for the Preservation of Rural Scotland.
